And the Winner of the 2020 Against the Current Scholarship Is…

With the first half of 2020 behind us, the team at jD LAW, P.C. are proud to announce the winner of the 2020 Against the Current Scholarship! We have thoroughly enjoyed reading through our five finalists’ essays and debating the merits and virtues of each applicant. It was a tough battle, but, like our finalists, we enjoy the struggle.
Now, without further ado, the 2020 Against the Current Scholarship winner is:
Michelle F. from East Berne, NY
Michelle’s essay was profound and inspiring, detailing her journey to expand prison education in New York. Even when others doubted her, she did not give up on her goals and continued to fight against the cycle of incarceration. Our team understands firsthand the types of doubt that Michelle faced and is honored to award her with a $1,000 scholarship! To learn more, feel free to read her essay yourself!
And to our other finalists and applicants, thank you for sharing your struggles and stories with us! We were truly impressed by your dedication to what you believe in and your resolve to keep pushing forward when others doubted you. We cannot wait to see how that dedication and resolve carry you into the future. While you may not have won today, there are still plenty more opportunities out there that need worthy challengers to step up to the plate.
